Easter Worship Service
Welcome:
Apostle's Creed:
Pastor Ben
“I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and
buried; The third day He rose from the dead. He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty from thence he shall come
to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian
Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the
body,and the life everlasting. Amen.â€
Call to Worship:
Psalm 146: 1-5
Dr. Jim Resse
"Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul!
I will praise the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish.
Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God,"
I will praise the Lord as long as I live;

Glorious Day with Christ the Lord is Risen Today
I was buried beneath my shame. Who could carry that kind of weight? It was my tomb till I met You.
I was breathing, but not alive. All my failures I tried to hide. It was my tomb till I met You.
You called my name and I ran out of that grave- Out of the darkness into Your glorious day!
You called my name and I ran out of that grave -Out of the darkness into Your glorious day!
Now Your mercy has saved my soul.
Now Your freedom is all I know;
The old made new, Jesus, when I met You.
You called my name and I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day!
You called my name and I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day!
Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia! Sons of men and angels say: Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia! Sing, ye heav’ns, and earth, reply: Alleluia!
Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia! Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia! Dying once He all doth save, Alleluia! Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!
You called my name and I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day!
You called my name and I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day!

Confession of Sin:
Pastor Ben
Pastor:
Almighty God,
In raising Jesus from the grave,
you shattered the power of sin and death.
We confess that we sometimes remain captive to doubt and fear,
bound by the ways that lead to death.
We often overlook the poor and the hungry
and pass by those who mourn;
we have not bowed before you as we ought, or acknowledged your rule in our lives.
Forgive us, God of mercy.
Help us to trust in your power
to change our lives and make us new,
that we may know the joy of life abundant given in Jesus Christ, the risen Lord.

In Christ Alone
In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song.
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease; My Comforter, my All in All;
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone who took on flesh; Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save; ‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied; For ev’ry sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay; Light of the world by darkness slain. Then bursting forth in glorious day, Up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine,
Bought with the precious blood of Christ!
On Christ, the solid rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.
No guilt in life, no fear in death; This is the power of Christ in me.
From life’s first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man Can ever pluck me from His hand;
‘Til He returns or call me home, Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.
He is my light, my strength, my song.

Assurance of Pardon:
(Based on 1 Corinthians 1:19-22; 15:54-57)
Pastor:
In Christ all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,
and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.
And you who were once estranged and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his fleshly body through death,
so as to present you holy and blameless and irreproachable before him. Brothers and sisters: through the cross of Christ we are forgiven and reconciled to God.

Pastor:
Through the resurrection of Christ,
we have victory over death so that we can say:
“Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Come Behold The Wonderous Mystery
Come behold the wondrous myst’ry, in the dawning of the King.
He, the theme of heaven’s praises, robed in frail humanity.
In our longing, in our darkness, now the light of life has come.
Look to Christ, who condescended, took on flesh to ransom us.
Come behold the wondrous myst’ry, He, the perfect Son of Man. In His living, in His suff’ring, never trace nor stain of sin.
See the true and better Adam, come to save the hellbound man. Christ, the great and sure fulfillment, of the law in Him we stand.
Come behold the wondrous myst’ry, Christ the Lord upon the tree. In the stead of ruined sinners, hangs the Lamb in victory.
See the price of our redemption, see the Father’s plan unfold. Bringing many sons to Glory, grace unmeasured, love untold.
Come behold the wondrous myst’ry, slain by death, the God of life. But no grave could e’er restrain Him, praise the Lord, He is alive. What a foretaste of deliv’rance, how unwavering our hope. Christ, in power resurrected, as will we be when He comes.

Scripture Reading:
Bill McDaniel
Romans 10:5-13:
“For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them. But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) “or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Jesus Paid It All
I hear the Savior say, Thy strength indeed is small,
Child of weakness watch and pray, find in me thine all in all. Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.
Lord, now indeed I find Thy pow’r, and Thine alone,
Can change the leper’s spots and melt the heart of stone. Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.
And when before the throne, I stand in Him complete, Jesus died my soul to save, my lips shall still repeat. Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.
He washed it white as snow, He washed it white as snow.
Oh, praise the One who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead. Oh, praise the One who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead.
Oh, praise the One who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead. Oh, praise the One who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead.
Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
