Disaster relief ministry

What is Disaster Relief?
Our Disaster Relief Ministry team works in partnership with Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief and  other state conventions to help those affected by disasters. Many types of aid are offered including food, water, showers, laundry, repairs, rebuilding and more. All assistance is provided free of charge due to the gracious gifts of Alabama Baptists through the Cooperative Program.

Where can I serve?

Check the list below to see where your gifts can be of service.

Administration
Our administration teams track and coordinate incoming and outgoing volunteer teams, resources, in-kind donations, and job orders.
Assessment
After a disaster strikes, our assessment teams work to determine priority needs and connect communities with available resources.
Chainsaw
Chainsaw teams provide a practical service and spiritual ministry for homeowners during recovery.
Chaplaincy
Disaster relief chaplains provide a ministry of presence and support to those who have survived disasters.
Cleanup
Using various tools and supplies, the cleanup teams help residents begin the difficult process of removing damaged items from their home.
Communications
Through the use of amateur radio, these teams are able to assist in the coordination, placement, supply, and support of other ministries.
Mass Feeding
Mass feeding units provide hot meals to feed survivors, first responders, utility crews, and other relief volunteers.
Shower
After a long, hot day of work in the disaster field, a shower is such a blessing.  The shower units provide this support.
Laundry
The laundry ministry of disaster relief makes it possible for volunteers and disaster survivors to have clean clothes.
